There are two main reasons for bringing your vehicle for an inspection at PUSPAKOM.
Most of the inspections that we undertake are a legal requirement, and are therefore mandatory. PUSPAKOM is the only inspection company authorised by the Malaysian Government to perform mandatory inspections on vehicles.
As your safety is our priority, we recommend that private vehicle owners also bring their vehicles in to be checked regularly to ensure they are roadworthy and mechanically sound so as to avoid accidents or breakdowns.
The main reason for an inspection is to ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy. There are a number of benefits outlined here.
PUSPAKOM is a vehicle inspection specialist, and your workshop or service centre provides servicing only. Therefore all mandatory inspections at PUSPAKOM are still necessary, to comply with legal regulations.
All mandatory inspection at PUSPAKOM is necessary, to comply with legal regulations. However, the frequency of inspections is lower for new vehicles. Please refer to the details in Inspection Frequency to see how often you need to bring your vehicle in for an inspections with us.
There is no penalty. However, you will not able to renew your road tax, and therefore you will not able to use your vehicle.
There is no discrimination at PUSPAKOM. Our Vehicle examiners are well trained and are impartial. We use computerised testing equipment for the technical check points and this equipment is calibrated to give a consistent test result, so there can be no interference with the results.
A vehicle owned by a company and provided to employees for private use is therefore not classed as a ‘commercial’ vehicle and does not need to undergo Routine Inspections. Any vehicle registered for commercial use will need to have a Routine Inspection every 6 months.
Some runners, or agents will tell you that it is necessary to use their services to facilitate your vehicle inspection. This is NOT the case: - agents are unnecessary and there is no need to pay their usually exhorbitant fees. You can bring your vehicle to any PUSPAKOM Inspection Centre yourself and pay only the inspection fees, as outlined in the fees table here. - every PUSPAKOM customer is treated equally. Agents are NOT able to influence an inspection result.
Please call us if you are unsure about any part of the inspection procedure and we will be happy to assist you.
PUSPAKOM provides inspection services only and does not make vehicle repairs. The inspection report provides all necessary details required by a workshop to facilitate vehicle repairs.
We encourage you to inform us if you know of, or suspect any, misconduct or corruption at PUSPAKOM.
